Emmitsburg, Md. (October 23, 2011)—The men's tennis team won on Sunday morning 6-1 over NEC foe Wagner. Freshman Adam Salam won the deciding match at No. 2 singles.
Salam won 6-4, 6-3 to clinch the Mount victory. At No. 3 and No. 4 singles, Mike Zabetakis and Mike Salomon rolled to straight set victories. Zabetakis won 6-0, 6-0; while Salomon won 6-0, 6-1. Junior Taylor Place won at No. 5 single with a 6-4, 6-3 win. And Freshman Patrick McGinley won at No. 6 singles with a 6-2, 7-6 (7-3) victory.
In doubles action, all three teams won to earn the doubles point. Matthew Blake teamed up with Place to win at No. 1 doubles, 8-0. Salomon and Salam won at No. 2, 8-4; and Zabetakis and Justin Olexa won at No. 3, 8-1.
This match concluded the fall season for the men.
