PISCATAWAY, N.J. – Kelsey Hayward (Seekonk, Mass./St. Mary's Academy) finished 33rd to lead the Mount St. Mary's women's golf team to an 18th-place standing at the Rutgers Fall Invitational on Saturday.
After carding the sixth-lowest total in program history and a career-low round of 77 in the first round, Hayward posted an 84 in the second round to card a 161 in the two rounds to finish in 33rd place, 11 strokes behind the medalist.
Sarah Roe (Floral Park, N.Y./Floral Park Memorial) (71st place, 172), Christina Hall (Wall, N.J./Wall) (86th place, 180), Jen Kim (Blue Bell, Pa./Methacton) (89th place, 182) and Nicole Fazio (Lower Gwynedd, Pa./Gwynedd Mercy Academy) (92nd place, 190) rounded out the Mount's five competitors.
Boston College won the two-day event with a score of 616, two strokes ahead of the host Scarlet Knights (618) while St. John's (630), Seton Hall (637) and Delaware (641) rounded out the Top-5 teams in the field. The Mountaineers posted a 343 in the first round and a 352 in the final round for a two-day total of 695 to place 18th in the event.
The Rutgers Fall Invitational concluded the fall slate for Mount St. Mary's.
