PHOENIX, Md. - Autumn Serruta (Avon, Conn./Avon) finished 13th
to lead the Mount St. Mary's women's golf team a seventh-place
standing after the first round of the Towson Invitational on
Monday. The two-event is the squad's first event of the year.
Serruta posted a 40 on the front nine and a 41 on the final nine
holes for a score of 81 and a 13th-place standing, nine strokes
behind the current leader.
Christina Hall (Wall, N.J./Wall) (19th place, 83), Megan Corbett
(Danbury, Conn./Danbury (22nd place, 84), Sarah Roe (Floral Park,
N.Y./Floral Park Memorial) (34th place, 88) and Abbey Fry (Lebanon,
Pa./Cedar Crest) (41st place, 98) rounded out the Mount's five
competitors.
Fairleigh Dickinson leads the two-day event with a score of 314,
three strokes ahead of Towson (317) while Fairfield (32), St.
John's (327), Hampton (331) and Long Island (331) round out the
Top- teams. The Mount sits in seventh place with a score of
336.
Mount St. Mary's returns to action in the final round of the
Towson Invitational on Tuesday.
