LAKEWOOD,
N.J. Justin Nogay (Silver Spring, Md./Georgetown Prep) sits
in 10th place after the first round of the fourth annual Monmouth
Invitational to lead the Mount St. Mary's men's golf team to a
seventh-place standing on Saturday.
Nogay
posted a 39 on the front nine and a 38 on the final nine holes to
card a 77 in the first round to finish 10th, five strokes behind
the current leader.
Tim
Evelius (Westminster, Md./Westminster) (26th place, 80), Steve
Crain (Wellsville, Pa./Northern York) (33rd place, 81), Brandon
Powers (Bel Air, Md./Bel Air) (46th place, 85) and Brad Gerick
(Pylesville, Md./North Harford) (51st place, 87) also competed for
the Mount in the first round.
Lafayette
leads the event with a score of 301, one stroke ahead of Sacred
Heart (302) while Bucknell (310), Fairleigh Dickinson (311) and
Quinnipiac (313) rounded out the Top-5 teams. The Mount currently
sits in seventh place after a first round of 323.
Mount
St. Mary's returns to action on Sunday in the final round of the
Monmouth Invitational.
