BETHANY
BEACH, Del. Justin Nogay (Silver Spring, Md./Georgetown
Prep) finished 50th to lead the Mount St. Mary's men's golf team to
an 18th-place standing at the George Washington Invitational on
Saturday.
Nogay
posted an 80 in the first round and then a 79 in the final round to
finish in 50th place with a score of 159, 14 strokes behind the
medalist.
John
Rosecrans (Eldersburg, Md./Liberty) (81st place, 165), Alex Mabin
(Bismarck, N.D./Bismarck) (81st place, 165), Sage Smith (Denver,
Colo./Brophy) (89th place, 166) and Dan Michalek (Mount Airy,
Md./Mount St. Joseph) (109th place, 172) rounded out the Mount's
competitors.
Rhode
Island won the two-day event with a score of 601, four strokes
ahead of Longwood (605) while Penn (606), Skidmore (609) and
Delaware (611) rounded out the Top-5 teams. Mount St. Mary's posted
an 18th-place standing after carding a 321 in the first round and a
326 in the final round for a score of 647.
The
event was changed from 54 holes to 36 holes due to the number of
teams competing in the event.
The
Mount returns to action on Saturday at the Hawks
Invitational.
