SAVANNAH,
Ga. Katie Letsch (Blue Point, N.Y./Bayport Blue Point)
finished eighth to lead the Mount St. Mary's women's golf team to a
fourth-place standing at the Lonnie Barton Invitational on Tuesday.
Letsch
came into the final round tied with teammates Christina Hall (Wall,
N.J./Wall) and Christina Koerper (Huntingdon Valley, Pa./Mount St.
Joseph Academy) for 11th place with a score of 88. Letsch posted a
team-best 84 in the final round to move up to eighth place with a
two-round score of 172, 11 strokes behind the medalist.
Koerper
finished 17th with a score of 183 while Hall and Megan Corbett
(Danbury, Conn./Danbury) placed one stroke behind Koerper in 18th
place with a 184. Martin (LaVale, Md./Allegany) (24th place, 197)
also competed for the Mount in the event.
Towson
won the event with a score of 676, six strokes ahead of Siena (682)
while Long Island (687), Mount St. Mary's (722), Robert Morris
(723) and Monmouth (775) rounded out the competition.
Mount
St. Mary's returns to action on Mar. 30 at the Tina Barrett
Invitational hosted by Longwood.
