SMITHFIELD, R.I. - Ian Hendrie (Potomac, Md./St. Andrew's Episcopal School) scored in the 67th minute to lead Mount St. Mary's past Bryant 2-1 in Northeast Conference (NEC) men's soccer action on Sunday.

Hendrie broke a 1-all standstill when he found the twine in the 67th minute for the game-winning goal. It was the sophomore's third tally of the year and first since he scored against Loyola on Sept. 4.

Chris Wheeler (Newcastle, Australia/St. Francis Xavier) notched his fourth goal of the year for the Mount (3-9-0, 2-3-0 NEC) while Eric Mullins (Finksburg, Md./Mount St. Joseph) posted an assist in the winning effort.

Taylor Sabo scored off a Sean Kaukus assist for the Bulldogs (3-11-0, 1-5-0 NEC) while Victor Tutino made five saves in the loss.

Mount St. Mary's rallied from a 1-0 deficit to score the final two goals of the match and hold on for the victory in the first-ever meeting against Bryant.

After a scoreless first half, the Bulldogs got on the scoreboard first after Sabo found the twine off a Kaukus assist at the 51:14 for a 1-0 edge.

The Mountaineers answered two minutes and 10 seconds later when Wheeler scored off a Mullins helper at 53:24 to even the contest at 1-all.

Hendrie then found the twine when he scored off a rebound in front of the pipes at 66:16 for the decisive score. The Bulldogs had four corner kicks the rest of the way, but did not register a shot on goal in the final 33 minutes and 44 seconds of the game.

Mount St. Mary's returns to action on Friday at Waldron Family Stadium against Saint Francis (Pa.). Game time is 4 p.m.
