LEWISBURG,
Pa. Megan Corbett (Danbury, Conn./Danbury) finished 27th to
lead the Mount St. Mary's women's golf team to an 11th-place
standing at the Bucknell Invitational on Sunday. Teams played 36
holes on Sunday after the first round was postponed due to heavy
rain on Saturday.
Corbett
posted an 83 and an 84 for the Mount to post a two-round score of
167, the fifth-best two-round total in program history.
Freshman
Maddy Martin (LaVale, Md./Allegany) recorded an 88 and an 82 to
finish with a 170 in 34th place. Christina Hall (Wall, N.J./Wall)
(45th place, 174) and Christina Koerper (Huntingdon Valley,
Pa./Mount St. Joseph Academy) (53rd place, 179) rounded out the
Mount's team players.
Senior
Katie Letsch (Blue Point, N.Y./Baypoint Blue Point) finished in
38th place as an individual with a score of 171. The senior notched
a second-round score of 80, the fourth-best single round in program
history. It marks the third time Letsch has registered a round of
80.
The
Mount finished 11th as a team with a score of 690, the third-best
two-round total in program history and only the fourth time in team
history the squad has notched two rounds under 700. The squad's 339
in the final round was the fifth-best single round in program
history.
Penn
State won the competition with a score of 610, nine strokes ahead
of Youngstown State (619). Rutgers (642), Lehigh (647) and Bucknell
(659) rounded out the Top-5 teams.
Mount
St. Mary's returns to action at the ECAC Championships on Oct.
4-5.
