PISCATAWAY,
N.J. Jeff Kingsbury (North Beach, Md./Northern) finished
33rd to lead the Mount St. Mary's men's golf team to a 16th-place
standing at the Rutgers Invitational on Friday.
Kingsbury
posted a 37 on the front nine and a 37 on the back nine for a total
of 74 to stand in 33rd place, six strokes behind the current
leader.
Alex
Mabin (Bismarck, N.D./Bismarck) (60th place, 76), Sage Smith
(Denver, Colo./Brophy) (68th place, 77), Brandon Powers (Bel Air,
Md./Bel Air) (90th place, 79) and Jake Wetzel (Waynesboro,
Pa./Waynesboro Area) (96th place, 80) rounded out the Mount's team
players.
Freshmen
Steve Crain (Wellsville, Pa./Northern York) and John Rosecrans
(Eldersburg, Md./Liberty) both made their collegiate debut on
Friday and finished tied for 96th after carding an 80.
USC
Upstate leads the completion with a score of 281, three strokes
ahead of Bryant (284), six strokes ahead of both Binghamton (287)
and Towson (287) and seven strokes ahead of Seton Hall (288). The
Top-6 teams are separated by eight strokes. The Mountaineers sit in
16th place going into the final round after posting a
306.
Mount
St. Mary's returns to action on Saturday in the final round of the
Rutgers Invitational.
