CITY, N.J. Courtney Gaddi (Silver Springs, Md./Our Lady of
Good Counsel) posted two second-place finishes to lead the Mount
St. Mary's women's swimming team in a meet against Manhattan, St.
Peter's and Wagner on Saturday. The Mount defeated Manhattan 57-37
and St. Peter's 71-39, but lost to Wagner 64-31.
Gaddi
finished second in the 200 free (2:03.41) and second in the 100
free (56.74). Fellow freshman placed right behind Gaddi in the 100
free (57.47) and finished second in the 50 free (26.12). Albright
and Gaddi started and finished the winning 200-free relay team
(1:42.75), respectively with Paige Chenet (Berwyn, Pa./Conestoga)
and Maggie O'Connell (Hagerstown, Md.) swam the second and third
legs in the squad's lone win of the meet. O'Connell finished third
in the 100 fly (1:04.24)
Mary Beth
Kasda (Woodbine, Md./Glenelg) recorded two Top-4 finishes after
placing second in the 200 IM and fourth in the 100 breast
(1:14.81).
Heather
Kurtzman (Bel Air, Md./Bel Air) placed second in the 100 back
(1:06.24) and Jeanne Marie Benedetti (Olney, Md./Our Lady of Good
Counsel) was second in the 500 free (5:34.89). Maggie O'Connell
(Hagerstown, Md.) finished third in the 100 fly
(1:04.24).
Mount St.
Mary's returns to action on Saturday at home against Radford. Meet
starts at 1:30 p.m.
