Sacred Heart Downs Women's Swimming, 103-95

EMMITSBURG, Md. – Paige Chenet (Berwyn, Pa./Conestoga) won two individual events and helped Mount St. Mary's to a first-place standing in the 400-free relay against Sacred Heart in women's swimming action on Saturday. The Pioneers edged the Mount, 103-95.

Chenet won the 50 free (28.86) and the 100 free (1:02.98) and then swam the third leg of the winning 400-free relay to close out the meet. Courtney Gaddi (Silver Spring, Md./Our Lady of Good Counsel) and Kelsey Albright (Endicott, N.Y./Maine-Endicott) started the Mountaineers off on the right foot in the first two legs before Chenet and Maggie O'Connell (Hagerstown, Md.) brought home the 400-free relay victory.

Gaddi also won the 200 free (2:15.94) and finished third in the 400 free (4:50.16). O'Connell placed third in both the 50 free (29.74) and the 200 fly (2:42.95) while Albright finished second behind Chenet in the 100 free (1:03.17).

Jeanne Marie Benedetti (Olney, Md./Our Lady of Good Counsel) finished second in both the 800 free (9:47.45) and the 400 free (4:48.59). Mary Beth Kasda (Woodbine, Md./Glenelg) posted third-place standings in the 800 free (10:18.19) and the 200 breast (3:01.28).

Elize Radziwill (Cherry Hill, N.J./Cherry Hill) finished second in the 200 IM (2:33.26) while Heather Kurtzman (Bel Air, Md./Bel Air) was second in the 200 back (2:34.62). Julie Farrell (Bernardsville, N.J./Bernardsville) placed third in the 100 free (1:06.08) and Eileen Coyne (Haddonfield, N.J./Haddonfield Memorial) was third in the 200 back (2:40.85).

Mount St. Mary's returns to action on Saturday at St. Peter's and will also compete against Manhattan and Wagner.
