Hall Places Fifth To Fuel Women's Golf At Holiday Inn Pittsburgh Airport Colonial Golf Classic

MOON TOWNSHIP, Pa. –Christina Hall (Wall, N.J./Wall) finished fifth to lead the Mount St. Mary's women's golf team to fifth place at the Holiday Inn Pittsburgh Airport Colonial Golf Classic on Tuesday.

Hall posted an 85 on the first day and then carded the sixth-best single round in program history with an 80 to finish in fifth place with a 165, five strokes behind the medalist. Hall posted her second Top-5 two-round total in program history after establishing a new two-round record at the ECAC Championships on Oct. 5.

Christina Koerper (Huntingdon Valley, Pa./Mount St. Joseph Academy) placed 13th with a total of 170 and Ananda Rochita (San Francisco, Calif./Lowell) also finished in the Top-20 with a 16th-place standing and a score of 173. Maddy Martin (LaVale, Md./Allegany) (32nd place, 184) and Megan Corbett (32nd place, 184) rounded out the Mount's team players. Katie Letsch (Blue Point, N.Y./Baypoint Blue Point) (30th place, 181) competed in the event as an individual.

Youngstown State won the event with a score of 648, 17 strokes ahead of IUPUI (665) while Fairfield (683), Chicago State (687), the Mount (691), Saint Francis (Pa.) (701) and Robert Morris (723) rounded out the field. The Mountaineers posted their third-straight event with a score under 700 after registering three tournaments under 700 coming into this season in program history. The invitational was played at the Montour Heights Country Club, which was voted as one of the 50 toughest courses in the United States by Golf Digest in 2007.

Mount St. Mary's returns to action in the last event of the fall when the squad hosts the Mount St. Mary's Fall Invitational on Oct. 27-28 at the Quail Valley Golf Course in Littlestown, Pa.
