MOON
TOWNSHIP, Pa. Christina Hall (Wall, N.J./Wall) and Christina
Koerper (Huntingdon Valley, Pa./Mount St. Joseph Academy) are tied
for ninth place to lead the Mount St. Mary's women's golf team to a
fourth-place standing at the Holiday Inn Pittsburgh Airport
Colonial Golf Classic on Monday.
Hall
posted a 43 on the front nine and a 42 in the final nine holes
while Koerper carded a 40 on the first half of the opening round
and a 45 on the final nine holes to both finish in ninth place with
an 85, seven strokes behind the current leader.
Ananda
Rochita (San Francisco, Calif./Lowell) is one stroke behind the duo
in 12th place with an 86 while Maddy Martin (LaVale, Md./Allegany)
(2th5 place, 91) and Megan Corbett (28th place, 92) rounded out the
Mount's team players. Katie Letsch (Blue Point, N.Y./Baypoint Blue
Point) (34th place, 95) is competing in the event as an
individual.
Youngstown
State leads the competition with a score of 321, 25 strokes ahead
of IUPUI (346) and Fairfield (346) while the Mountaineers (347),
Chicago State (349), Saint Francis (Pa.) (354) and Robert Morris
(367) rounded out the field. The invitational is being played at
the Montour Heights Country Club, which was voted as one of the 50
toughest courses in the United States by Golf Digest in 2007.
Mount
St. Mary's returns to action in the final round of the Holiday Inn
Pittsburgh Airport Colonial Golf Classic on Tuesday.
