The Mount St. Mary's women's golf team is
in seventh place after the first day of the Northeast Conference
Championships held at the Hershey East Golf Course in Hershey, Pa.
Christina Koerper finished
the first day tied for 18th to pace the Mount.
Koerper shot an 88 on the day on a wet
and soggy course. Autumn Serruta was the
Mount's second-best finisher after tying for 22nd with a 90. Molly
Gorman (28th, 95), Kelly Leonard (T31st, 96) and
Katie Letsch (35th, 99)
rounded out the Mount's lineup.
Defending champion Saint Francis
(Pa.) took charge of the field, leading with a score of 330. In
second place is Central Connecticut State (340) followed closely by
Long Island, who is one stroke back (341). Sacred Heart is in
fourth with a first-round score of 349 with Monmouth and Robert
Morris rounding out the top six teams with scores of 358 and 360,
respectively. Mount St. Mary's (369), Wagner (401) and Fairleigh
Dickinson (418) wrap up the first day team scores.
Tee off for the second day of the
Northeast Conference women's golf tournament is slated to begin at
8:00am on Saturday. The conference championship is a three-day,
54-hole event. Team scores are calculated by adding the team's four
lowest scores from each day. The top-10 finishers are selected as
all-NEC performers
