PISCATAWAY, N.J. - Caitlin Fortner
(Greeneville, Tenn./Greeneville) finished 37th to pace the Mount
St. Mary's women's golf team at the Rutgers Invitational on
Saturday. The Mount finished in 17th place with a two-round score
of 734.
Bethune-Cookman won the event with a
total of 624, nine strokes ahead of Yale (633) while St. John's
(642), Siena (645), USC Upstate (666), Rutgers (666) and Bucknell
(666) rounded out the Top-5 teams in the two-day event.
Fortner finished as the Mountaineers' top
golfer in the third-straight competition after posting an 83 in the
first round and an 85 in the second round to card a 168 and placing
37th.
Christina Koerper (Huntingdon Valley,
Pa./Mount St. Joseph Academy) (56th place, 173), Emily Morrison
(Scottsdale, Pa./Southmoreland) (92nd place,196), Ananda Rochita
(San Francisco, Calif./Lowell) (94th place, 200) and Ashley McLeod
(Howell, N.J./Freehold Township) (96th place, 202) rounded out the
Mount St. Mary's competitors.
The Mount concludes the fall slate at the
Mount St. Mary's Fall Invitational on Friday and Saturday at the
Quail Valley Golf Course in Littlestown, Pa.
