Somerset, NJ (May 1, 2019) - Mount St. Mary's juniors Alexa Quintanilla and Hannah Davis garnered All-Northeast Conference (NEC) First Team Honors as announced by the league office on Wednesday afternoon. Quintanilla was named to the singles and doubles All-NEC First Team, while Davis collected All-NEC First Team for doubles.
The Lima, Peru native was named to the All-NEC First Team for the second consecutive year after she was named to the All-NEC Rookie Team during her first season. In her junior campaign Quintanilla tallied a team best 16 singles victories that moved her total career singles wins to 53, which is just under the tenth highest all-time in Mount history. In NEC play, Quintanilla recorded a perfect 4-0 mark in the number one flight spot for the Mountaineers. She tabbed the third highest win percentage (.579) overall in the No. 1 spot in the NEC while was tied for the highest win percentage (1.000) in all of NEC action and in the first flight (1.000).
The Mount St. Mary's duo of Quintanilla and Davis were tabbed to the All-NEC First Team in doubles after they marked a team leading 11-9 overall record and a 2-0 conference record. The junior pair tabbed a 10-7 mark in the number one doubles flight and combined for 33 total doubles wins on the year. Davis led the Mount with 17 overall doubles wins and Quintanilla finished right behind her with 16. The duo earned the fourth highest win percentage (.588) overall in the NEC and ended tied for first in just NEC play (1.000).
