ABOUT THE INVITATIONAL
The invitational is a 'Points of the Compass' format, with each team consisting of two players and each round consisting of a doubles match and two singles matches. The winner of the best-of-three advances to the next round.
ABOUT THE MOUNT
Mount St. Mary's junior Hannah Davis and sophomore Megan Smith took home second place in the number two doubles flight during a rained shortened Bucknell Invitational earlier this month. In the number one doubles flight, Alexa Quintanilla teamed with Taylor Cook to defeat St. Francis' Seigford and Miller 6-4 in the Quarterfinals but were edged by Bucknell's Leavy and Koch 6-4 in the Semifinals. In the second flight of doubles competition, Davis and Smith topped Bucknell's Gannon and LaBarge 7-5 in the Quarterfinals. The Mount duo then edged Khiri and Joynes from Howard, 7-5, in the Semifinals before Lafayette's McCormack and Cooke defeated Davis and Smith 6-2 in the Finals.
LAST SEASON'S LOYOLA INVITATIONAL
The Mount St. Mary's women's tennis team took home sixth place and eleventh place at the Loyola Invitational.
