MOUNT UPDATE:  The Mountaineers opened the season with a pair of 3-0 losses on the road last week, falling to American in the season opener and Old Dominion on Sunday.  Goalkeeper Charlotte Elrod has made nine saves over the first two games while Gianna Pomykacz leads the team with three shots.

ABOUT PENN:  Penn, with nine returning starters, welcome the Mountaineers for the season opener.  Top returnees include First Team All-Ivy goalkeeper Kitty Qu and three-time All-Ivy selection Allie Trzaska.

THE ALL-TIME SERIES:  Penn holds a 3-0 lead in the all-time series that began in 2013.  The Quakers captured a 3-0 win on September 6, 2015 in the last meeting.  The Mount is 0-2 all-time on the road against Penn.

CAPTAINS:  Lauren Bogardus, Charlotte Elrod, Bianca Gillman, Gianna Pomykacz and Jenna West will serve as the Mount's captains in 2018.

PRESEASON PREDICTIONS:  The Mountaineers were picked ninth in the annual Northeast Conference preseason coaches poll that was released on Monday.  Two-time defending champion Saint Francis U is the preseason favorite.
