Moon Township, Pa. (October 22, 2017) – Mount St. Mary's University fell by a 4-0 margin at Robert Morris on Sunday afternoon in Northeast Conference women's soccer action.
Jane Schleicher, Erin Ritzer, Kristina Kelley and Maleha Kureishy each registered three points on the afternoon to lead RMU to victory.
With the win, Robert Morris improved to 5-11 overall and 3-4 in the NEC, while the Mount dropped to 5-10-1 on the year and 2-4 in conference play.
The Colonials got on the board in the 18th minute of play as Kureishy netted her first goal of the season off a corner kick to give RMU the early advantage.
Robert Morris added two more goals before the end of the half, as the team's top two scorers this season, Kelley and Schleicher, registered a goal apiece to push the Colonial lead to 3-0 at the halftime break.
Both teams were held scoreless throughout most of the second half of play until Ritzer found the back of the net with just over a minute remaining for an insurance score for the Colonials.
RMU closed out the 4-0 victory, with Sydney Bruckner picking up the win in goal following a seven-save performance. Maggie Barron took the loss in net for the Mount despite making a pair of saves in the tilt.
The Mount plays its final home game of the regular season this coming Friday (October 27) against Saint Francis U at 7 p.m.
