Late Pair of Goals Propel Bryant Past Mount St. Mary’s

Emmitsburg, Md. (October 8, 2017) – A late pair of goals from Bryant, both coming in the final 12 minutes of regulation, lifted the Bulldogs to a 2-1 victory over Mount St. Mary's University on Sunday in Northeast Conference women's soccer action.

The game's first goal didn't come until the 79th minute of play, when Haley Reddish fired a shot from the top of the box to give Bryant a 1-0 advantage. The tally was Reddish's team-leading fourth goal of the season.

Just over four minutes later, Bryant added to its lead on a score from Remi Manna. Becca Michaud sent a free kick into the box, which was flicked in by Manna to push the Bulldogs' lead to 2-0 with under eight minutes remaining in the tilt.

The Mount was able to cut into the deficit in the 86th minute after getting fouled inside the box. Junior Kayla Hughes converted the penalty kick for her third goal of the year, bringing the Mount within a score at 2-1.

The Mountaineers had a chance to tie it off a corner kick in the final minute, but weren't able to find the equalizer, eventually falling by a 2-1 final.

Meghan Dalton earned her fifth victory of the year in goal for Bryant. Maggie Barron made three saves in net for the Mount.

The Mount is back in action this coming Friday (October 13) at home against Wagner at 7 p.m. Mount St. Mary's will celebrate Senior Night with a ceremony prior to the game.
