Somerset, N.J. (August 28, 2017) – After leading their team to a pair of wins over the weekend, Mount St. Mary's University junior Jenna West and freshman Jasmine McCree were each named Northeast Conference women's soccer weekly award winners. West was tabbed the NEC Player of the Week, while McCree was named Rookie of the Week as the league announced the awards on Monday.
West led the Mount to a pair of 4-1 victories over Howard and Hampton as the midfielder registered nine points (4g, 1a) combined in the two games. On Sunday at Hampton, she netted what proved to be the game-winning goal in the 67th minute, and followed with her second of the game under two minutes later. The junior leads the Mount with four goals and 10 points on the year.
McCree combined for three assists over the weekend to help lead the Mount to the pair of victories. The rookie tallied the first point of her career in Friday's contest at Howard, assisting on West's 80th minute goal. On Sunday, McCree added two more assists at Hampton, and now leads the squad with three helpers on the year.
