February 19, 2018 – Mount St. Mary's sophomore Carly Miller and freshman Beanie Colson have been recognized with Northeast Conference women's lacrosse weekly honors following the Mount's season-opening win against Manhattan on Saturday. Miller was named the NEC Player of the Week, while Colson earned Rookie of the Week honors.
Miller registered a game-high five points on four goals and one assist to help lead the Mount to the 12-8 victory over Manhattan. The sophomore found Taylor Carhart in front of net for the assist on what proved to be the game-winning goal with just 2:52 remaining, before adding an insurance tally of her own just over a minute later to help seal the win.
In her collegiate debut, Colson was a force all over the field for the Mountaineers, collecting three goals and one assist to go along with a game-high nine draw controls. Colson's nine draws were more than the entire Manhattan team combined (8).
Miller, Colson and the Mountaineers return to action this Wednesday (Feb. 21) for a home matchup against UMBC at 3 p.m.
