Mount Women’s Lacrosse Announces Schedule for 2018 Season

2018 SCHEDULE

Emmitsburg, Md. (December 21, 2017) -- The Mount St. Mary's University women's lacrosse team announced its schedule for the upcoming 2018 season on Thursday. The Mount is set to play nine of its 17 games at home, including six in non-conference action.

"We are excited to announce our 2018 schedule! We play three home games to start the season, including Army (West Point) for the first time in program history. We will welcome two California teams to the Mount in March when we play Fresno State and San Diego State. I am confident that the first part of our schedule will prepare us well for conference play in April," said Mount Head Coach Lauren Schwarzmann.

The Mountaineers open the 2018 campaign on February 17 at home against Manhattan in the 12th all-time meeting between the two teams. The Mount looks to remain perfect against the Jaspers, having won each of the previous 11 matchups.

Following the season opener, the Mount remains in Emmitsburg for contests against UMBC (Feb. 21) and Army (Feb. 24), before heading out on the road for a two-game stretch at Presbyterian (Feb. 28) and Longwood (Mar. 3).

The Mount returns home to face Lehigh (Mar. 9) for the ninth time in series history, and Fresno State (Mar. 12) for the first time, before traveling for tilts at George Washington (Mar. 17) and Radford (Mar. 24). Last season against Radford the Mountaineers registered a season-high 23 goals in the victory in Emmitsburg.

Mount St. Mary's closes out its non-conference schedule at home against San Diego State on March 30, as the two teams are set to face off for the first time.

The Mount's seven-game Northeast Conference slate is highlighted by the league opener at home against Saint Francis U (Apr. 6), a matchup versus last year's conference runner-up, Wagner (Apr. 14), and a home game against 2017 NEC Champion, Bryant (Apr. 29), to close out the regular season.

The top four teams in the NEC regular season standings will qualify for the conference playoffs, which are set for May 3 and 5 at the home of the highest seed.
