Westminster, Md. (May 19, 2017) – Mount St. Mary's University women's lacrosse Head Coach Lauren Schwarzmann will be inducted into the Carroll County Sports Hall of Fame this Friday, May 19 at a ceremony at Carroll Community College.
Schwarzmann will be one of five members, along with her sister and former Mount St. Mary's Assistant Coach Katie Schwarzmann, to be inducted in this year's class.
Lauren Schwarzmann was a member of Century High School's first graduating class in 2004 after transferring to the school as a sophomore in 2002. Schwarzmann competed in lacrosse, soccer and basketball during her time at Century, and led her lacrosse team to a state finals appearance in their first year as a varsity program, before following up by winning the state title the following season.
After graduating from Century, Schwarzmann played from 2005-08 at collegiate powerhouse Johns Hopkins University, where she earned four All-American First Team honors. Schwarzmann wrapped up her career with the Blue Jays ranking 12th all-time in program history with 118 career points (79g, 39a).
Schwarzmann earned a spot on the U.S. National Team as a senior at JHU and competed for five years with the squad. Following her playing career, she went on to coach at Stanford and Cincinnati before taking over the helm at Mount St. Mary's in 2015.
