ABOUT THE MOUNT
The Mountaineers sit at 0-2 on the year following a season-opening loss to Longwood, 13-10, and a 16-7 loss at UMBC on Wednesday.

In the contest against Longwood, the Mount took a 9-7 lead midway through the second half following three straight scores, but the Lancers responded with six of the final seven goals of the contest to come away with the three-goal victory. Rookies Kate Kinsella and Carly Miller led the Mount in the game with a combined five goals and two assists.

On Wednesday at UMBC, the Mountaineers and Retrievers were all tied at 3-3 with 10 minutes left in the first half, but UMBC pulled away with five straight goals, and held off the Mount in the second period for an eventual 16-7 win. Sammie Knapp paced the Mount with four points on three goals and one assist, while Taylor Carhart added a pair of scores.

SCOUTING NIAGARA
The Purple Eagles have split their opening two contests of the season, cruising past St. Bonaventure by an 18-5 margin in the season opener before falling to Colgate, 11-10, last time out. Alexis Morales leads the squad with nine goals, and Rachel MacCheyne (6g, 2a) and Grace Hunt (3g, 5a) have eight points apiece. Andrea Francisco has started both games in the Niagara cage, posting a 7.95 goals against average and .531 save percentage.
