Mount St. Mary's Women's Golf Finishes Sixth at Roseanne Schwartz Invitational

Boardman, Ohio (September 3, 2019)--The Mount St. Mary's women's golf team closed out its first competition of the season today at the Roseanne Schwartz Invitational held at the Mill Creek Park Golf Course.  Michaila Cheung paced the Mountaineers in the competition with a 14th-place finish.

Cheung shot an 82 today after posting a 78 in the first round for a two-day total of 160 to finish in a tie for 14th place.  Olivia Gardenhour finished in a tie for 26th place with a two-day total of 168 (85-83) while Taylor Woodward (91-99=190) and Sophia Vargas (122-126=248) also competed for the Mountaineers.

Youngstown State won the team title with a score of 583, followed by Cleveland State (619), Niagara (623), Saint Francis U (636), Capital University (720) and the Mount (766).  Youngstown State's Puthita Khuanrudee and Victoria Grans paced the individual field with matching scores of 144.

Mount St. Mary's is back in action on Saturday and Sunday at the FDU Knight Invitational which will be held at the Crystal Springs Golf Club in Hamburg, N.J.
