SOMERSET, New Jersey (Nov. 14, 2019) – Following an impressive weekend at the first conference meet, Mount St. Mary's sophomore Rebecca Dodson was named the Northeast Conference (NEC) Bowler of the Week Wednesday (Nov. 13).
Dodson helped lead the Mount with 21.30 pins per frame across the two-day tournament. Along the way, she earned strikes more than half the time (34-for-60) and filled frames at a 90 percent clip. She also finished off 14 of 15 single-pin spare conversions and converted two of her four splits. That added up to average of 9.18 on the first ball.
Mount finished tied for fourth in a tightly contested first weekend.
Dodson is the second Mountaineer to win Bowler of the Week honors in 2019-20. Tamera Stanton received the honor after the Bud Whitman Memorial to open the season this past October.
Mount St. Mary's returns to the lanes this weekend for the Stallings Invitational, hosted by North Carolina A&T Friday (Nov. 15) through Sunday (Nov. 17).
