Mount Women’s Basketball Adds Antoine White to Coaching Staff

Emmitsburg, Md. (September 5, 2016) – Mount St. Mary's University women's basketball Head Coach Bryan Whitten has announced the addition of Antoine White as an assistant coach for the 2016-17 season.

"I am excited to add Antoine to our staff this year. He interned with us this summer and he really impressed me with his passion, knowledge, and the way he related to our players," said Whitten. "He was a talented, successful player, and I believe he has a lot to offer our program. He is young and has some things to learn, but I love his energy, enthusiasm, and passion."

White graduated this past May from Southern Vermont College in Bennington, Vt., where he rounded out his career as the Mountaineers' all-time career assists leader with 242 in 59 games played (4.1 ast/g). White was a three-year team captain at SVC, helping guide his squad to an ECAC Championship in 2015 and NECC Championship in 2016. The Bethesda, Md. native also holds the record for most assists in a single season in program history, tallying 177 during the 2013-14 campaign as he earned Team Co-MVP honors.

Prior to his time at Southern Vermont College, White worked as a coach with the KOA Sports travel team, and as the head JV coach and assistant varsity coach at his alma mater, Walt Whitman High School, in Bethesda.
