Mount St. Mary's women's basketball hits the road to face Pittsburgh at the Peterson Events Center on Tuesday, December 8 at 7 p.m.
•The Mount owns a 2-5 record on the year after getting edged by Loyola, 65-63, last time out. The Mountaineers nearly erased a 16-point fourth quarter deficit, and had a chance to tie the game in the final seconds.
•Junior Alexis Carter, the team's leading scorer, netted a career-high 22 points on 9-of-12 shooting in the contest. Carter tops the squad with 14.1 points per game on the year, while sophomore Jessica Harris (11.0 ppg) and Katrice Dickson (7.0) rank second and third, respectively.
•Head Coach Bryan Whitten sits just two wins shy from becoming the third coach in program history to reach the 100-win plateau with the Mount.
•The Mountaineers are 2-3 on the road this season with victories at Delaware State (54-41) and UMES (57-50).
•Mount St. Mary's is looking for its first-ever win over Pittsburgh as the Panthers hold a 7-0 advantage in the all-time series. The Panthers won the most recent meeting by a 78-43 final on their home court in 2013.
•The Panthers sit at 5-3 on the year following a loss at Michigan (82-45) and win over Holy Cross (56-50) this past week.
•Kalista Walters tops all scorers on Pittsburgh with 11.9 points per game, and Yacine Diop (11.0 ppg) and Aysia Bugg (10.4) are the team's other scorers averaging double-digit points.
•Pittsburgh's putting up 61.1 points a contest through the opening eight games while allowing 57.2 to opponents.
