Mount Women's Basketball Hosts FDU on Saturday for Senior Day

MOUNT UPDATE: The Mount clinched a berth in the Northeast Conference tournament for the 23rd time in 25 seasons with a 76-63 win at Sacred Heart on Feb. 15. A win over FDU would give the Mount its first season with more than 15 victories since posting a 20-win campaign in 1999-2000. The Mount is currently riding a five-game winning streak and can match the longest in Head Coach Bryan Whitten's seven-year tenure with a win on Saturday.

LAST TIME OUT: The Mount led by as many as 20 points early in the second half in an 84-78 win at Bryant on Feb. 17. Five players scored in double figures for the Mount for the second time this season, highlighted by a team-high 20 from Sydney Henderson. The Mount outrebounded Bryant, 41-33, with a team-high nine coming from Jessie Kaufman.

ABOUT FDU: The Knights have lost three in a row and are 10th out of 10 in the NEC standings. FDU is led offensively by Kelsey Cruz (14.4 points per game) and Brianna Thomas (12.1 ppg). The Knights rank ninth in the NEC in scoring offense with 61.3 points per game and ninth in scoring defense, allowing 76.4 points per game. FDU is 0-11 on the road in 2013-14.

LAST TIME VS. FDU: After leading by just three at halftime, the Mount pulled away by outscoring FDU, 51-36, in the final 20 minutes. Sydney Henderson scored 22 points and dished out a career-high eight assists, while Ashley Christie recorded a career-high 10 assists and tied a career best with five steals on the night. As a team, the Mount shot 33-of-58 (56.9 percent) from the field.

ALL-TIME SERIES VS. FDU: The Mount is 26-21 against Fairleigh Dickinson in the all-time series. In games played in Emmitsburg against FDU, the Mount is 16-8.

SENIOR DAY: Prior to Saturday's game, the Mount will honor five seniors with a Senior Day ceremony. Ashley Christie, Kayla Grossett, Sydney Henderson, Jessie Kaufman and Rachel Mathews will be recognized for their contributions to the program. The five seniors have combined for 4,122 points, 1,879 rebounds, 910 assists and 539 games played.

NEC PLAYOFF PICTURE: Five teams, including the Mount, have already punched their ticket to the NEC Playoffs. Robert Morris is currently in first, followed by the Mount, Saint Francis U, Bryant and Sacred Heart.
