Mount St. Mary's Prepares for Monday Night's Game at Central Connecticut State

MOUNT UPDATE: The Mount seeks its first Northeast Conference road victory of the season with a 7 p.m. game against Central Connecticut State on Monday. Since the beginning of conference play, Sydney Henderson and Jacqueline Brewer are averaging 17.0 points per game apiece. Kayla Grossett is adding 10.1 points in NEC play, while the Mount is shooting 39.4 percent from three-point range.

LAST TIME OUT: In the team's second overtime game of the month, the Mount came away victorious, 84-79, over Bryant at home at Knott Arena on Jan. 25. The Mount set a program record with 15 three-pointers on 15-of-29 shooting from beyond the arc. Jacqueline Brewer notched a career-high 27 points as the Mount finished with five players in double-figures for the first time since Feb. 9, 2008. Sydney Henderson scored 21 points for her ninth game this season with 20 or more points.

ABOUT CCSU: The up-and-down Blue Devils are coming off a 71-66 overtime win over St. Francis Brooklyn on Jan. 25. Jessica Babe, who leads Central Connecticut with 13.5 points per game, went for a team-high 20 in the win over the Terriers. The Blue Devils are 6-2 at home this season and currently sit in seventh place in the NEC standings.

LAST SEASON VS. CCSU : The two matchups with Central Connecticut last season were decided by a combined six points with both teams winning at home. Sydney Henderson's 18 points were not enough in a 77-73 overtime loss at CCSU on Jan. 21, 2013. When the Blue Devils made the return trip to Emmitsburg on Feb. 16, Henderson netted a team-high 14 points in a 50-48 victory. 

ALL-TIME SERIES WITH CCSU: The Mount leads the all-time series, 19-10. Dating back to the first meeting in 1998, the Mount is 8-6 in road games versus CCSU. 

STARTERS STUFF THE STAT SHEET: Last time out in a win against Bryant, the Mount's five starters scored all 84 of the team's points. All five starters scored in double figures on the day. 

UP NEXT: The Mount hosts Robert Morris on Feb. 1 at 5 p.m. as part of the Winter Homecoming celebration before welcoming CCSU to Knott Arena on Feb. 3 at 7 p.m.
