MOUNT UPDATE: The Mount plays in front of its home crowd for the second time this season as Campbell makes the trip to Emmitsburg for the second-consecutive season. The Mount will look to improve its record to 2-4 overall and 1-1 at Knott Arena this season.
LAST TIME OUT: After trailing by 10 at halftime, the Mount yielded 52 second-half points in a 95-67 loss at Lehigh on Nov. 19. The Mount shot 30 percent from the field (24-of-80) and received a team-high 19 points from Sydney Henderson. Lehigh finished with three players in double figures led by Kerry Kinek's 18 points to go with nine rebounds. Kayla Grossett led the Mount with seven rebounds.
TOP IN THE LEAGUE: Senior guard Sydney Henderson leads the Northeast Conference with 21.4 points per game this season. She is 0.1 points ahead of reigning NEC Player of the Year Artemis Spanou from Robert Morris with 21.3 per game.
ABOUT CAMPBELL: The Fighting Camels enter Saturday's game riding a two-game winning streak with victories over Western Carolina and UNC Wilmington in their last two contests. Campbell is shooting 42.7 percent from the field and is outrebounding its opponents by more than five boards per game. Kiera Gaines leads the way with 16.8 points and 9.0 rebounds a night, while Roslyn Presley is scoring at a clip of 12.8 points per game.
ALL-TIME SERIES VS. CAMPBELL: Last year's game at Knott Arena on Nov. 19 was the first-ever meeting between the Mount and Campbell. The Mount is 0-1 versus the Camels after last season's 54-48 loss.
LAST TIME VS. CAMPBELL: The Mount forced Campbell into 22 turnovers but could not take down the Camels, who picked up a 54-48 win over the Mountaineers in last year's home opener for the Mount. The homestanding Mountaineers trailed by just two points at 44-42 with 1:45 to play before Campbell scored 10 of the final 16 points for the win. Jessie Kaufman led all scorers with 24 points and grabbed a game-high eight rebounds in the loss.
MOUNT VS. THE BIG SOUTH: The Mount has dominated teams that currently make up the Big South Conference to the tune of a 35-6 record. The Mount has done most of its damage against Liberty, with the Mountaineers being undefeated in 11 all-time meetings. The Mount is also 8-3 versus Longwood and 7-2 against Radford.
SCORING JUMP: During the 2012-13 season, the Mount's offense averaged 58.5 points per game. Through five games this season, the scoring average has spiked to 71.0 with three players averaging eight points per game or better in Sydney Henderson (21.4 ppg), Jessie Kaufman (9.8 ppg) and Jacqueline Brewer (8.8 ppg).
UP NEXT: The Mount hits the road to face Atlantic Coast Conference opponent Pittsburgh on Tuesday, Nov. 26, at 7 p.m. The game is the beginning of a seven-game stretch that includes five road contests.
