Emmitsburg, Md. – With Thanksgiving right around the corner, the Mount St. Mary's Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (S.A.A.C.) will host its annual Thanksgiving Food Drive to benefit local food banks. S.A.A.C. will accept donations for the food drive during the Mount basketball home doubleheader on Saturday, Nov. 23.
Mount student-athletes will be set up near the entrances of Knott Arena to accept donations as the women's basketball team takes on Campbell at noon and the men's team makes its home debut against American at 4 p.m.
The items needed most by the local food banks are ready-to-eat food, such as Chef Boyardee and ravioli, hygiene items including toilet paper, soap and shampoo, and drinks such as juice, coffee, tea and hot chocolate.
