Emmitsburg, Md. (Aug. 2, 2013) -- Mount women's basketball coach Bryan Whitten added one more freshman to his 2013-14 roster with the signing of Kaitlyn Eisenhard (Bechtelsville, Pa./Boyertown).
The 6'0 forward joins Kayla Bates (Tyrone, Pa./Bishop Guilfoyle) and Kathleen Bélanger-Finn (St-Lambert, Quebec/Champlain College St-Lambert), who are entering their freshman seasons as well as Sarafina Arthur-Williams (Germantown, Md./Churchill/UNC Greensboro), who transferred to the Mount from UNC Greensboro to make up this year's recruiting class.
"We are excited to add Kaitlyn to our Mount family," Whitten commented. "She brings a unique skill set as a five-player with a perimeter game. She had a very successful high school career at Boyertown capped off with Class AAAA First Team All-State accolades as a senior. She's a great person and a great student, and we are looking forward to her contributions to the Mount community and our basketball family."
The all-time leading scorer in Boyertown Area High School history, Eisenhard finished her four-year career with 1,420 points and 988 rebounds. As a four-year varsity letter winner and team captain as a senior for Head Coach Jason Bieber's squad, Eisenhard led her team to the state playoffs three times and reached the Final Four as a sophomore.
She was a three-time All-Area and All-PAC 10 First Team selection, as well as a two-time league MVP. As a senior, Eisenhard took home First Team All-State recognition after averaging 15.7 points and 10.3 rebounds per contest.
The Mountaineers are coming off a 15-16 season in 2012-13, which included a 10-8 mark in the Northeast Conference regular season schedule. The team won six of its final nine games and returns its top two scorers in Second Team All-NEC selection Sydney Henderson (13.1 ppg) and All-NEC Tournament Team member Jacqueline Brewer (10.0 ppg).
