April 10, 2019--Christopher Gabor has been named the Northeast Conference Field Athlete of the Week while Rene Rosso was named the NEC Rookie of the Week today. Gabor won the decathlon at the Sam Adams Combined Events Invitational this past weekend while Rosso finished in third place in the heptathlon at the event.
Gabor won the decathlon with 6,660 points to take home first place at the meet. His score of 6,660 points is the eighth-highest mark in the decathlon in the East region so far this season. Four of Gabor's performances in the decathlon are top 10 marks on the NEC peformance list this year. Gabor's long jump of 6.78m is second on the NEC list, his high jump of 1.81m is fifth, his 11.03 seconds in the 100m is eighth and his time of 15.86 seconds in the 110m hurdles is tied for eighth.
Rosso finished third in the heptathlon at the Sam Adams Combined Events Invitational with 4,238 poitns, the top mark in the NEC so far this year. Rosso moved into second place amongst league leaders in the high jump while moving into 13th place in the long jump. She owns the 35th-best Heptathlon score in the NCAA East Region.
