Emmitsburg, Md. – Mount St. Mary's University held a dedication ceremony on Friday to commemorate the Horning Hospitality Room Home of the Waitzman Track & Field Center, a multi-purpose room for team activities located in the Athletic Recreation Convocation Complex.
Giving the blessing for the Center was University Chaplain Father Brian Nolan, while others in attendance for the ceremony included: Mount St. Mary's President Dr. Tim Trainor, Director of Athletics Lynne Robinson, Vice President for University Advancement Bob Brennan, Head Coach Jay Phillips, and benefactors Irene and Doug Waitzman.
Mount St. Mary's would like to thank the Waitzman family, along with all of the alumni, parents, and friends of the program who helped make this possible.
The Horning Hospitality Room Home of the Waitzman Track & Field Center, along with the facility improvements made at E.T. Straw Family Stadium, are part of the Forward! Capital Campaign, a project aimed at improving the Mount's athletic facilities and the overall student-athlete experience.
