January 20, 2018--The Mount St. Mary's University men's and women's indoor track and field teams had three athletes take home first place today as the team participated at both the Bucknell Gulden Invitational and the Maryland Terrapin Invitational today. Kayla Barnes won both the 60m and 200m dash at Bucknell, Justin Kimble the 60m dash at Bucknell, and Rachel Finn the pole vault at Maryland.
Barnes completed the double today by taking home first in the 60m dash in a time of 7.81 seconds and then winning the 200m dash with a time of 25.73 seconds. Kimble captured first in the 60m dash with a time of 6.90 seconds while Finn won the pole vault at Maryland by clearing 3.65m. Finn's mark also qualifies her for the ECAC Championships in March.
Mariah McLane finished in second place in the 400m dash at Bucknell with a time of 58.43 while Chardane Logan was fourth in the 500m (1:18.97). Erin Sample had a nice day for the Mount as well, finishing second in the shot put (13.76m, 45' 1.75", ECAC qualifier) and fourth in the weight throw (15.03m, 49' 3.75").
For the men at Bucknell, Kimple added a third-place finish in the 200m dash (22.35) while Zachary Delker was fifth in the shot put (14.67m).
At Maryland, Moriah Fitzgerald was fifth in teh pole vault (3.50m, 11' 5.75"), Chelsea Wright fifth in the high jump (1.60m, 5' 2.25"), Christopher Gabor third in the pole vault (4.35m, 14' 3.25") and Colin Waitzman fourth in the pole vault (4.20m, 13' 9.25").
The Mount track teams are in action next weekend at the Penn State National Invitational and the George Mason Patriot Games.
