Gruschow, Barbato and Ingram All Post First-Place Finishes at Bucknell Team Challenge

Lewisburg, Pa. (April 20, 2013)—Tommy Gruschow won the 1,500m, Joe Barbato won the javelin, and Elissa Ingram earned first place in the pole vault to lead the Mount St. Mary's men's and women's track and field teams at the Bucknell Team Challenge on Saturday afternoon.

Gruschow won the 1,500m run with a time of 3:54.90 to take home first-place honors.  Barbato won the javelin with a toss of 56.42 meters.

Daniel Santalla was second in the 400m hurdles (57.19) while Scott Rice was fifth in the pole vault and Sam Prescott fifth in the long jump for the Mount men.

On the women's side, Ingram won the pole vault with a mark of 3.42m.  Heather Juhring was second in the javelin (42.07m) while Genamarie McCant was third in the 400m dash (56.83) and fourth in the 200m dash (25.18).  Helena Leyrer posted a fourth-place finish in the 100m hurdles (14.94) with Megan Kinsella finishing fourth in the 3,000m steeplechase (11:26.71).  Allie Donahue was fifth in both the discus and the shot put.

Chantel Lipkins placed fourth in the long jump (5.60m)

Next up for the Mount track team is the Penn Relays on April 25-27.
