Tim Nickas Leads Decathlon After First Day of the Mount Multi's

Emmitsburg, Md. (April 18, 2013)—Tim Nickas leads the decathlon after the first day of competition at the Mount Multi's held at Morgan Track on campus.

Nickas accumulated 3,392 points on the first day of completion in the decathlon.  He opened by posting a time of 11.70 seconds in the 100m dash for 711 points.  He followed with a long jump of 6.67m (736 points) and a shot put of 12.48 meters (636 points).  Nickas had a mark of 1.73m in the high jump (569 points) and finished the opening day with a time of 51.66 seconds in the 400m dash for 740 points.

Michael Spadara of Johns Hopkins is in second place with 3,102 points in the field of 10 competitors.

For the women, Kristin Spera leads the heptathlon with 2,292 points after the first day of competition.  The Mount's Kelsey Greene is in third place with 2,031 points.  Greene scored 391 points in the 100m hurdles, 588 points in the high jump, 386 points in the shot put and 666 points in the 200m dash.
