Mount Track Closes Out Competition at Wake Forest Open

Winston-Salem, N.C. (March 16, 2013)--Freshman Helena Leyrer was the top collegiate finisher in the 400m hurdles to pace the Mount men's and women's track and field teams at the Wake Forest Open on Saturday.

Leyrer finished the hurdles with a time of 1:02.39 to finish as the top collegiate runner in the field. Heather Juhring started the outdoor season with a solid second-place finish in the javelin with a toss of 44.43m. Chantel Lipkins posted a fifth place finish in the long jump (5.51m) while Genamarie McCant was 15th in the 200m dash with a time of 25.11 seconds.  For the men, Chris Swisko was 16th in the 800m run with teammate Kody Wilson placing 19th in the field.
