2013 NORTHEAST CONFERENCE INDOOR TRACK AND FIELD CHAMPIONSHIPS

The Mount St. Mary's men's and women's indoor track and field teams are headed to the 2013 Northeast Conference Indoor Track and Field Championships. The meet will be held at the Prince George's Sports & Learning Complex in Landover, Md.
Mount Update: The Mount's last action was two weeks ago when Genamarie McCant won the 500m run at the Penn State National Invitational while Chantel Lipkins won the long jump with an ECAC qualifying mark at the George Mason Patriot Games.
Other top performances at the two meets included Tommy Gruschow finishing sixth in the 3000m run (8:34.59), Coby Rosemier-Gussio placing seventh in the 200m dash (22.30) and Chris Swisko eighth in the mile run (4:15.25) at Penn State.
Last Year at the NEC Championships: Coby Rosemier-Gussio was named the NEC's Most Outstanding Rookie Performer in helping lead the Mount men to a fifth-place finish last year. He was second in the 200m dash (22.14), fifth in the 60m dash (7.07), fourth in the long jump and was part of the Mount's winning 4x400m relay team.
Gigi Gibilisco captured the 800m run with a mark of 1:52.26. The 4x400m relay team , comprised of Rosemier-Gussio, Jamie Gibilisco, Tom FitzSimons and Gigi Gibilisco, finished first with a mark of 3:19.22.
Jess Huber finished third in the pole vault, Chantel Lipkins sixth in the long jump, and Morgan Ostasewski sixth in the weight throw to pace the Mount women.
NEC Weekly Honors: The Mount women's team has had three athletes earn NEC Weekly honors. Chantel Lipkins was the NEC Field Athlete of the Week on Jan. 29, Elissa Ingram the NEC Field Athlete of the Week on Jan. 15, and Genamarie McCant the NEC Rookie of the Week on Jan. 29 and Jan. 8.
