Genamarie McCant wins 500m Run at Penn State National Invitational

January 26, 2013—Freshman Genamarie McCant won the 500m run at the Penn State National Invitational to pace the Mount St. Mary's men's and women's indoor track and field teams on Saturday.  Chantel Lipkins qualified for the ECAC's by winning the long jump at the George Mason Patriot Games.

Also at Penn State, Tommy Gruschow was sixth in the 3000m run (8:34.59), Coby Rosemier-Gussio was seventh in the 200m dash (22.30) and Chris Swisko eighth in the mile run (4:15.25).

Lipkins led the Mount at the George Mason Patriot Games, winning the long jump with a mark of 5.73m.  Desi Scott was third in the 500m run, Helena Leyrer seventh in the 400m dash and Teika Robinson sixth in the triple jump.  For the men, Kody Wilson was seventh in the 800m run.

The Mount track teams are off until the 2013 Northeast Conference Track and Field Championships on February 9-10 at the Prince Georges Sports and Learning Complex in Landover, Md.
