Mount Softball Clipped by Morgan State, 3-0

Baltimore, Md. (March 15, 2018)--The Mount St. Mary's softball team lost at Morgan State, 3-0, today at Lois T. Murray Field.  Shelbee Holcomb had a pair of hits for the Mountaineers in the game.

Morgan State (8-10) scored all three runs in the bottom of the second inning to secure the win.  Mikaeyla Browdy doubled with one out, and a walk to Jalian Young with two outs put runners on first and second.  A passed ball moved the runners up one base, and Caitlyn Williams walked to load the bases.  A passed ball allowed the first run of the game to score, and Damali Young followed with a two-run single to left to put the Bears ahead, 3-0.

Lindsay Heinze and Holcomb each singled to put runners at the corners for the Mount with one out in the fourth, but a double-play allowed Morgan State to escape the inning without any damage being done.

Jordan Weaver started for the Mount, allowing three unearned runs in four innings of work.  Weaver struck out five while allowing three hits and three walks in the game.  Katie Olson pitched two scoreless innings of relief, striking out a pair.
