Mount Men's Tennis Heads To Annapolis For A Match Against Bryant On Friday

The Mount men's tennis team were edged 6-3 by Webber International last Thursday to close out their Florida spring break trip. Jean Armstrong and Evan Hine led the way for the Mountaineers in singles competition by picking up wins in the number four and number five flights. The Mount St. Mary's duo of Parth Sharma and Christian Duran earned the other point in doubles action.

Webber International won four out of the six singles flights to secure the match victory. The Mount's Jean Armstrong defeated Jordi Serrano 6-4, 6-2 in the fourth flight while Evan Hine topped Christof Buehler 6-4, 6-4 in the fifth flight for the Mountaineers two points in singles competition. Alonso Garcia won his first set in the third flight to at least force a third-tie breaker set but Garcia was defeated in that set by Ivan Bondarenko.

Parth Sharma and Christian Duran gave Mount St. Mary's their only other point of the match after they clipped Matthew Alexander and Christof Buehler 9-8 in the number three flight of doubles action. The Warriors earned their fifth and sixth points of the match after they took the first and second flights.

The Mount St. Mary's men's squad welcomes Hofstra on Wednesday, March 20 for their home opener at 2 PM.
