Mount Men's Soccer Rounds Out Homestand Against American on Tuesday Night

Yann Kouemi tallied two goals and assist as the Mount defeated visiting Central Connecticut, 3-2, on Friday evening.  Kouemi scored twice in a span of 1:09 in the first half to give the Mount a two-goal lead, and he added an assist on a Marcos Lucero goal that put the Mount up 3-0 at the half.  The Blue Devils rallied with a pair of second half goals, but the Mount was able to stave off the rally to earn the win.  Kouemi leads the Mount with six goals and 13 points this season while Boris Nana Tonzi is second on the team with seven points (3g, 1a).

American enters Tuesday night's matchup 1-8-2 overall and 1-3-1 in the Patriot League.  The Eagles are coming off a 2-1 loss at home to Boston University on Friday, and a 1-2-1 over their past four games.  Nick Dimitrejevic leads the team with a pair of goals while Tim Neumann has a team-high two assists.  In goal, Jake Agnew has appeared in eight games with a 1.96 GAA and a .686 save percentage.  The Eagles have struggled on the offensive end this year, scoring five times in 11 games.

American holds an 11-4-3 lead in the all-time series that dates back to 1954.  The two squads battled to a 1-1 tie at American last season in the first meeting between the two teams since 1989.  The Mountaineers are 7-3-0 all-time at home against the Eagles, but this will be American's first appearance at Waldron Family Stadium, which opened in 2006.
