MOUNT UPDATE: The Mount Men's soccer team has opened the season with back-to-back victories after a 2-1 win at Bucknell on Friday night. After a first half buzzer beater from Boris Nana Tonzi, the Mount saw Bucknell even the score with a 67th minute penalty kick from Matt Thorsheim. Just three minutes later, Juan Molina sent a long shot on goal that Bucknell goalkeeper Emmett Witmer was unable to control. Karamo Bah jumped on the rebound and deposited the ball into the back of the net to give the Mountaineers a 2-1 advantage. From there, the Mount held Bucknell off the scoreboard to secure the victory.

SCOUTING HOWARD: The Bison opened up the 2019 season with a 3-0 loss to Longwood. Daniel Hart led the team with two shots while senior goalkeeper, Carlos Caro, recorded six saves in the loss. Flashing back to the 2018 season, Howard recorded a 2-10-3 overall record with a 0-4 mark in the Sun Belt Conference.

LAST YEAR'S MEETING: The Mount and Howard played to a 1-1 tie last season.  Gavin Shirley gave the Mountaineers an early lead in the 2018 matchup before Victor Guirma tied it for the Bison in the 63rd minute. Bobby Edwards came up with three saves for the Mount while Carlos Caro had three of his own for Howard. A nip and tuck defensive battle led to a draw between the two squads.

ALL-TIME SERIES: The Mount owns a 7-9-6 all-time record against Howard after the two teams tied at Waldron Family Stadium a year ago. Prior to last year's matchup, the Mountaineers had won the previous three games with the last meeting coming in 2012.

UPCOMING SCHEDULE: The Mountaineers will return home this Saturday, September 14 to take on the Navy Midshipmen under the lights at 7 PM at Waldron Family Stadium.
