Somerset, N.J. (April 2, 2018) -- Mount St. Mary's University goalie Dylan Furnback has been named the Northeast Conference Men's Lacrosse Rookie of the Week, as announced by the league office on Monday.
Furnback is the second Mountaineer to collect the honor this season, joining Luke Frankeny, who won the award back in mid-February. Furnback turned in a stellar performance in his first collegiate start on Saturday against Sacred Heart, making 19 saves in the tilt which is the most stops by a Mountaineer goalie in a game this season and second-most among NEC goalies. The rookie posted a save percentage of .655 against the Pioneers, and made 11 saves in the second half, including seven in the final quarter to help propel the Mount's near-comeback win.
Furnback and the Mountaineers return to action this coming Saturday (April 7), as the travel to Bucknell for the final non-conference game of the season.
