MOUNT UPDATE
The Mountaineers got back in the win column last Saturday with a 16-9 victory over VMI at Waldron Family Stadium, moving the Mount to 2-4 on the season. Sophomore Brenden McCarthy fueled the Mount with a career-high nine points on five goal and four assists in the contest. McCarthy's nine points were the most by a Mountaineer since Andrew Scalley tallied 10 in a game against Manhattan back in 2013. Rookie Luke Mutterer, who earned his third straight start in the cage, posted a six-save performance to collect his second win of the season.

McCarthy leads the Mount in all three scoring categories on the year (14g, 13a, 27p), and ranks among the top-four in the NEC in goals, assists and points per game. Four other Mountaineers have registered double-digit points thus far, including Chris DiPretoro (11g, 5a) and Stephano Mastro (12g, 2a). Between the pipes, Mutterer has posted a .493 save percentage, good for fifth-best among NEC goalies.
