Mount St. Mary's Men's Lacrosse Picked Fifth in NEC Preseason Coaches Poll

Somerset, N.J. (February 7, 2017) – The Mount St. Mary's University men's lacrosse team has been picked to finish fifth in the annual Northeast Conference Preseason Coaches Poll, as announced by the league office on Tuesday.

Reigning Northeast Conference regular season champion Saint Joseph's was picked to win the NEC as the Hawks received four first-place votes, while 2016 tournament champion Hobart was picked to finish second, receiving a pair of first-place votes. Bryant received the other first place vote, while Robert Morris, Mount St. Mary's, Sacred Heart and Wagner rounded out the seven-team poll.

Mount St. Mary's finished the 2016 campaign with a 6-8 overall record and 2-4 mark in conference play. Bubba Johnson, an All-NEC First Team selection in 2016, returns for his grad season, and reigning All-NEC Rookie Team performers Chris DiPretoro and Jack Mangan are back for their sophomore campaigns.

The Mountaineers open the 2017 season against Delaware on February 11 at 12 p.m. at Waldron Family Stadium.
