Daytona Beach, Fla. (April 28, 2019) – The Mount St. Mary's men's golf team finished in seventh place at the Northeast Conference (NEC) Championship, as the Mountaineers closed out the final round on Sunday from LPGA International. Nacho Gomez placed fifth on the individual leaderboard to earn NEC All-Tournament Team honors.
Robert Morris won the championship with a three-round total of 898 (+34), while Bryant shot a 904 (+40) and Sacred Heart registered a 916 (+52) to round out the top-three in the standings. The Mount fired a three-round score of 928 (+64) to take seventh place in the nine-team field.
The individual champion was Florian Schroedl of Fairleigh Dickinson, who shot a 215 (-1) over his three rounds and finished as the only player under par.
Gomez led the Mountaineers with an impressive showing as he placed fifth on the individual leaderboard and earned a spot on the All-Tournament Team. The sophomore closed things out with a 75 (+3) on Sunday after tallying three birdies and nine pars in his final round. Gomez posted a three-round total of 223 (+7).
Jack Snyder was the Mount's next top-finisher, placing in a tie for 15th with a 232 (+16). Snyder registered a 75 (+3) on Sunday with a pair of birdies and 10 pars.
Matt Kinsey shot a 79 (+7) in his final round to finish with a 241 (+25), Michael Robinson posted an 86 (+14) to close things out at 242 (+26), and Pablo Alonso carded a 77 (+5) to finish at 243 (+27).
